The city of Aurora and Colorado Freedom Memorial’s Colorado Remembers ceremony will be Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year, the event will celebrate the 250-year anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, as well as the 150-year anniversary of Colorado’s statehood. Enjoy a free-will donation pancake breakfast, displays of military artifacts and musical entertainment.

The ceremony and tribute will be followed by tours of the memorial and the chance to tour the military displays including military vehicles, The Honor Bell and a steel beam from the USS Arizona.

10 to 11:30 a.m. | Remembrance Ceremony
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Static Military Display and tours of the Memorial

According to the Colorado Freedom Memorial website: “Constructed of glass panels that reflect Colorado’s mountains and blue skies the Memorial holds the names of over 6,000 Coloradans killed or missing in action.
“They are grouped by war, but names will not be alphabetically listed. Much of the Colorado Freedom Memorial is meant to reflect the chaos of war, including the shuffling of names.”
