One of Denver’s tasty summer traditions is revved up again for its 15th year. Civic Center EATS is the largest gathering of food trucks in the Denver metro area. Starting August 12, the tasty caravan runs every Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The annual event serves up delicious food, fresh air and lots of gorgeous views.
What a great way to spend a sunny afternoon or cool early evening! Whether you’re a downtown employee, resident or tourist, everyone can enjoy a great lunch (there’s something for every palate, even picky ones or those on a budget) and the beauty of Civic Center Park.
Metro Denver’s largest gathering of gourmet food trucks, Civic Center EATS 2020 showcases 20 deliciously diverse vendors. (With new safety guidelines in place, the number of trucks is significantly reduced than in years past.) The line-up of trucks will be announced on August 7.
With so many options available each day, downtown employees, residents and visitors can enjoy an authentically local lunch, while experiencing Civic Center ‘s architectural, horticultural and historic beauty.
As of now, no end date has been announced nor have any black-out dates been posted.
Obviously, this year’s event will be different, including the following changes:
EATS is located on the southwest side of the Central Promenade, near the Greek Theatre.
There is a roped-off area with two entrances and exits.
One section is for “Previewing” the trucks and the other is for “Ordering” — look for the signs!
Online menus and ordering will be available.
Wear a mask, unless you’re eating or drinking.
Groups must be no more than eight people.
Physically-distanced circles are located on the grass to enjoy your lunch or dinner.
Sit anywhere in the park or take your food to-go.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Civic Center Conservancy, the nonprofit dedicated to restoring, enhancing and activating downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park, the city’s only National Historic Landmark.
