Talk about the art of chili… Studio Arts Boulder hosts its street party, Chili Bowl 2018 on Sunday, September 22. The FREE event will span the entire block in front of the historic Fire Station #2, home to the Pottery Lab. The street fair is open to the public from noon to 5 p.m.
Chefs from local restaurants including Dagabi Tapas Bar, Cyclehops, Big Top Pops, Bramble & Hare, The Corner, Cafe Blue, The Sink, McDevitt Taco Supply, VERDE, and Mateo will compete in a chili competition using more than 500 bowls hand made by pottery lab students, staff, and volunteers.
Purchase a souvenir ceramic chili bowl for $20 and get five tastings of chili. Additional samples are $1 each. Taste them all. Then cast your vote to pick who will go home with the title this year.
The event will also include craft beer and live music by Sky Pond, The Winstons, Katandara Center and Paul Alexios Kimbiris.
Local arts organizations will also be on hand with art sales, demonstrations and art-making activities for all ages. The Pottery Lab studio will be open for its fall sale. 1010 Aurora Ave., Boulder.
