Talk about the art of chili… Studio Arts Boulder hosts its street party, Chili Bowl 2017 on Saturday, September 16. The FREE event will span the entire block in front of the historic Fire Station #2, home to the Pottery Lab. The street fair is open to the public from noon to 5 p.m. Local restaurants including The Corner, Mateo, Dagabi Cucina, West End Tavern, Foolish Craig’s and more will compete in a chili competition using more than 500 bowls hand made by pottery lab students, staff, and volunteers.
Purchase a souvenir ceramic chili bowl for $20 and get five tastings of chili. Additional samples are $1 each. Taste them all. Then cast your vote to pick who will go home with the title this year. The event will also include craft beer and live music by The Goonies, Felonius Smith Trio, Vana Vedu and Hugh Manatee. Local arts organizations will also be on hand with art sales, demonstrations and art-making activities for all ages. The Pottery Lab studio will be open for its end of summer sale. 1010 Aurora Ave., Boulder.
