Thousands of costumed guests are expected to pour into Denver’s downtown Halloween Pub Crawl on Saturday, October 28. Select participating bars welcome revelers with drink specials, such as $2 drafts and 2-for-1 mixed well cocktails, that only registered crawlers can access. On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina got its start in October 1982. In honor of its birthday month, the restaurant is offering a frugal fiesta for two from Monday, October 16 to Thursday, October 26. NBC Sports Group’s Sunday Night Football bus makes its first appearance of the season in the Denver area, making stops all over town on Saturday & Sunday, October 14 & 15 before it arrives at Sports Authority Field at Mile High as the Denver Broncos face the New York Giants.

We searched lots of pumpkin patches for the best price on the orange gourds. There may be sales in the weeks ahead. However, right now, the best regular price we found is at Trader Joe’s — a large pumpkin for just $2.99. Most other grocery stores are selling pumpkins for around $6. (Pumpkins at fall festivals and pumpkin patches tend to be higher in price.) For TJ’s locations, click here. St. Michael and All Angels Church’s annual Fall Rummage Sale is one of the biggest around with tons of well-priced furniture, household goods, sports equipment, glassware, clothing, toys and more. The second to the last of the year’s FREE Cult Classics at Central Park outdoor screenings is “Ghostbusters,” showing this evening, Friday, October 13. Create-your-own stir-fry restaurant bd’s Mongolian Grill is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The restaurant is inviting customers to party like it’s 1992.

From Tuesday to Thursday, October 10 to 12, its sole Denver location (1620 Wazee St.) is throwing back prices to its original 1992 prices — a bowl of Stir-Fry at lunch for $7.99 and an unlimited bowl for $10.99. Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Dinner Stir-Fry bowls and unlimited soup & salad will be available for $10.99 and an unlimited bowl for $13.99.) In addition, dine-in customers will receive $5 in Mongo Money during the birthday celebration.

Apparently, National Fossil Day is this coming week. The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History joins in the fun by inviting kids and their families to design their own trilobite cookie on Wednesday, October 11.
