Naughty Chile Taqueria is opening its first restaurant in Colorado.  Adding to its more than 40 taquerias nationwide, the new location is at 4001 Colorado Blvd., inside the Colorado Fast Break convenience store.  The new location will feature the chain’s updated brand and décor, showcasing its full-scale restaurant concept complete with seating and catering. 

The restaurant’s grand opening celebration on Friday, February 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will feature menu samples and prize giveaways.  The Mexican restaurant will also offer a FREE street taco, during taqueria hours to public school teachers, law enforcement and military — just show proper ID at checkout. 

While we rarely post about summer camps, this one in Castle Rock may appeal to those seeking a high-energy, hands-on STEM camp that spans six hours a day over five days. Camp Invention is for children entering grades 1 to 6 and runs June 3 to 7 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Clear Sky Elementary.

A program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Camp Invention lets kids collaborate to build prototypes, complete hands-on challenges and design a remote control bot. Teens in grade 6 to 12 are invited to an after-hours lock in at Erie Community Library on Friday, March 1 at 5:30 p.m. The FREE event features a zombie vs. humans nerf gun battle and activities. Repairing rather than tossing items not only saves money but also helps the environment, so before you give up on that broken appliance, lamp, toy, furniture, clothing/fabric item and buy yet another one, learn how to fix it. Boulder’s FREE  U-Fix-It Clinics provide the tools, including sewing machines and some supplies. Friendly coaches are also on hand. Still, it is recommended that participants  also bring any parts or tools that might be helpful for the repair.
