Edgewater Public Market will host Bikes & Body Slams, an annual bicycle drive and community celebration on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with the goal of collecting 100+ used bicycles for Bicycles 4 Humanity, a grassroots nonprofit that collects bikes from across Colorado and ships them to community-based organizations in southern Africa.

From 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., you can enjoy free live music from local bands Pax Simile and Nomad Neighbors and a free wrestling show by Primos Pro Wrestling.
Event organizers Happy Cones and Barquentine Brewing Co., both located at Edgewater Public Market, will give a FREE ice cream cone and a FREE pint of craft beer to those who donate a bike.
All donated bikes will be shipped by Bicycles 4 Humanity to Namibia and Zambia, where the nonprofit works with local community organizations to help supply and run bike shops in mostly rural areas.
The bike shops create a sustainable business ecosystem and provide healthcare workers, teachers, farmers, and students with access to reliable transportation.
Founded in 2007, Bicycles 4 Humanity’s Colorado chapter has shipped more than 20,000 bikes to southern Africa.
All donated bicycles must be in usable condition. “A good way to know whether we can use your bike is to ask yourself two questions,” says Josh Pace, director of Bicycles 4 Humanity Colorado. “Can you ride it? And can you stop it? If the answer to both is yes, we can use your bike.”
5505 W. 20th Ave., Edgewater.
