Take a step back in time as Aurora opens DeLaney Farm to the public this summer on select Saturdays. Tour the farm for FREE from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and enjoy special presentations and workshops depending on the day’s theme. For instance on Homesteading Day watch demonstrations of day-to-day life in the early 20th century.
The historic farm is an example of homesteading (circa 1870) and includes the Gully Homestead House and DeLaney Round Barn (the only round barn still standing in Colorado). Here’s the 2018 summer schedule:
June 2: Discover life on the Homestead and visit with the sheep.
June 16: El Vaquero and Miner Pickers Musicians.
July 14: Life on the Homestead. See inside the historic buildings and try your hand at the rolling pin toss.
July 28: Discover life on the Homestead and visit with the sheep.
Aug. 11: Discover life on the Homestead and visit with the sheep.
Aug. 25: Denver Urban Gardens tours visitors through their facility.
Staff and volunteers also are on hand to answer questions about the farm and its structures. 170 S. Chambers Rd. Aurora.
