About 120 local artists will bring their wares before the public during the Art Students League of Denver’s Summer Art Market, Saturday & Sunday, August 27 & 28, 2022. Whether your home looks like a museum or you’re a novice collector, you can pick some terrific pieces — paintings, sculptures, ceramics, mixed media — at reasonable prices.
The event, held in the West Wash Park neighborhood between E. 1st Ave. and E. 4th Ave and between Logan St. and Sherman St. It features a range of media, including ceramics, fiber arts, mixed media/book art, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, jewelry and sculpture.
All artists are students, faculty or members of the League. The longstanding event helps launch careers, supports beginners just entering the art world and provides a crucial opportunity for those looking to make a living in the arts.
The event also features live art demonstrations from ASLD faculty at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day and a drop-in interactive art experience for kids, both taking place at the community garden on the Art Students League of Denver grounds at 200 Grant St.
Food and drink vendors include Little Pub Company and Sweet Action ice cream.
The 2022 event will be ticketed. Tickets cost $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. They go on sale August 1. Tickets are valid the entire weekend.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Note that it can get hot and there’s limited shade, so wear a hat and slather on the sunscreen. 200 Grant St., Denver, 303-778-6990.
