Used Bookstore Benefits Jeffco Libraries & Saves You Big Bucks

POSTED BY
Laura

If you love buying books, but don’t like the price, check out Whale’s Tale Books & Gifts, a new used bookstore operated by Jefferson County Library Foundation. The store sells gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, audio books and vintage vinyl records…all at big discounts. Many times, shoppers will walk away with an entire bag of books for less than $10.

The store also offers new gift items including jewelry, scarves, handbags, greeting cards, tea towels and one-of-a-kind themed gift baskets.

Colored stickers on each item indicate the selling price of books and materials, from $1 to $10. Gift items and the more valuable vinyl records are priced separately.

The store resells books and materials culled from all 10 Jefferson County Public Library branches, as well as donations from the public.

Money raised helps support library programs, making it a win-win for buyer and seller.

Store hours are Sunday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Whale’s Tail is located at Colorado Mills in Unit 527 (near Entrance 5, next to Dick’s Sporting Goods), 14500 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood.

A second location now operates in Belmar at 7273 W. Alaska Dr., Lakewood. It’s open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Unfortunately they closed their Belmar location recently.
