The city of Thornton’s signature event — Thorntonfest — is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. at the Carpenter Park Fields. The FREE event (this year it celebrates the city’s 70th anniversary) includes a craft fair, kids zone, live entertainment, Paw Fest, competitions, car show, laser light show, beer garden and much more.

70th Anniversary Laser Light Show
As night falls, the sky comes alive with a dazzling laser light show celebrating the city’s 70th anniversary. Brilliant beams of color sweep across the night sky, creating vivid shapes and animated scenes.
A modern celebration that honors seven decades of community, growth and hometown pride — an unforgettable moment for all ages.
Kid Zone
Face painting, hands-on activities and educational items. Children’s amusements. Most are free, a few have a small fee.
Paw Fest
A specially-designed fair, with pet-related information, products, veterinary care, entertainment and shopping!
Birdie Ball
Staff from Thorncreek Golf Course present a fun way to try out your golf swing using giant inflatables.
Touch-A-Truck
This interactive venue gives children a chance to explore and learn about city vehicles, such as fire trucks, police cars and snowplows.
Nurf Terf
Challenge your family and friends and join others in the Nurf Terf arena. All equipment is supplied. Cost is $10 for three plays or $15 for unlimited plays. Pay in advance at nurfterf.com for a chance to win fun giveaways.
Hungerball (Hia Pōro)
Compete against up to 12 players in this exciting game that combines soccer, hockey, and handball in a single arena with six goals. It’s a fun test of skill, agility, and strategy that keeps players of all ages on their toes. The first round is free, and after that, enjoy unlimited play all day for just $10.
Skate Park Competition
This competition includes three skill levels in each of the following categories: bikes, scooters and skateboards. Helmets and completed liability waivers are required.
Thornton Boxing Club
Don’t miss Thornton Boxing Club’s first-ever, Thorntonfest open-sparring event, featuring top boxing clubs from across Colorado. Come cheer us on as we represent Thornton with an exciting showcase of skill and heart!
City Services Tent
Offers representatives from city divisions to provide you with guidance for your city-related questions. Booths will display information on topics from volunteer opportunities to police administration.
Car Show
A huge display of custom cars.
Thornton Police Department’s Canine Demos
Will demonstrate their professional skills developed to help keep our community safe. This venue showcases the incredible skills and teamwork between law enforcement officers and their highly trained dogs.
Festival Beer Garden
Enjoy an ice cold beverage along with live entertainment from the neighboring Marketplace stage.
