Each year, local organizations and community groups sponsor Thanksgiving turkey and food giveaways, to make sure families facing food insecurity or financial hardship can gather together for a traditional meal. We’re collecting as many of these turkey giveaways and food distribution events, as well as free meals, as we can find, and listing them here. Some require advance registration, which is why we are posting this list now.

Details: Registration is required for receiving a box before 12 p.m. Each box provides Thanksgiving meal fixings for a family of 8 to 10 along with a frozen turkey. Boxes are limited. Registration will close when the maximum number of registrations is reached.

More info: In honor of Daddy Bruce, this is community-wide Thanksgiving Distribution honoring the legacy of Daddy Bruce, who in 1963 started feeding people every Thanksgiving Holiday. This year The Epworth Foundation has committed to distributing 2,500 baskets. Each basket has all the thanksgiving trimmings to feed a family of eight including a turkey.

Hope things get better for you. We are so proud of the Mile High community and how everyone is pitching in. This morning we dropped off a few supplies at our local recreation center and it was amazing to see a giant pile of food and toiletries. Neighbors helping neighbors is what it is all about.
