Set against Tokyo’s vibrant ballroom- and Latin-dance scene, Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty! follows Haru (Rinko Kikuchi), whose life once revolved around dancing with her husband, Luis. After a devastating loss leaves her isolated and consumed by grief, her friends encourage her to return to the studio. There, an unexpected connection with a new instructor begins to rekindle her passion for dance—and for life.
Colorful, heartfelt, and occasionally surreal, the film explores grief, desire, friendship, and the courage it takes to rediscover joy.
