Start your engine, bargain hunters! The current gas prices have everyone monitoring their budget more closely. The price of gas has increased by 48% within the past 12 months, with the U.S. reaching its highest recorded average gas price ever this past March. And Smashburger doesn’t want customers to put the brakes on dining out because of the added expense, so they’re helping out with a big discount.

To offset the impact of paying more at the pump, the burger joint is offering customers a one-day discount of $4.12 off any purchase of $15 or more on Sunday, May 1 at participating locations. The discount is equal to the current average price of a gallon of gas.
The offer is available to all customers — in-restaurant and online via Smashburger’s site or app. Be sure to use promo code GAS. (Gift cards are excluded from the discount.)
