cowboyIf you didn’t get your rodeo “fix” during the National Western Stock Show, now’s your chance. The nation’s best cowboys and cowgirls compete in events such as bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping and barrel racing during the Rodeo All-Star at the National Western complex. Groupon has a ticket deal for the Semi-Final Round on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 7 p.m. followed by a George Birge concert, that will cost you $30 (regularly $44 + ticket fee).

Another option is the Semi-Final Round on Saturday, October 7 at 2:30 p.m. in which you can get a ticket for $25 (normally $39 + fee). Or, see who takes home a championship belt buckle and big money at The Finals that night at 7 p.m. and pay $30 (regularly $44 +fee).

Established in 2013 as the all-star event for rodeo athletes, the weekend includes three professional rodeo performances jam-packed with bronc riding, barrel racing, bull riding, mutton bustin’, and women’s breakaway roping.

Breakaway roping is the fastest event in rodeo, with times as quick as 1.9 seconds. Like other roping events, it is the skill of horse and rider. The roping skills are precise, and once the animal is roped, the horse stops, the rope breaks away from the saddle horn, and the clock stops.

Rodeo All-Star hosts three tournament-style rodeo performances that showcase the best cowboys and cowgirls in seven exciting rodeo events. Following Friday’s rodeo action, guests are invited down to the dirt for the All-Star Concert, presented by Mountain Dew, featuring Birge.

The Nashville songwriter-artist, is taking the music charts by storm with his hit single “Mind On You” from his debut album, “George Birge: Mind On You.” The song has soared into the Top 30. It continues to climb, earning accolades from industry veterans such as Bobby Bones, who dubbed it one of his “Top 3 Favorite Songs” and hailed Birge as a “National Spotlight Artist.”

The All-Star Line-Up for Rodeo All-Star Includes:

October 6:

6:00 PM: Mutton Bustin’ Qualifier

7:00 PM: Rodeo All-Star Semi-Finals

9:15 PM: FREE Concert (with Friday night rodeo ticket) featuring George Birge

10:30 PM: All-Star After-Party

October 7:

11:30 AM: Lunch with Champions

1:30 PM: Mutton Bustin’ Qualifier

2:30 PM: Rodeo All-Star Semi-Finals

6:00 PM: Mutton Bustin’ Qualifier

7:00 PM: Rodeo All-Star Finals

9:00 PM: All-Star After-Party

Do note that parking at the National Western Complex costs $10. So come early or stay after to enjoy extra fun.
