Denver Union Station and the Mexican Cultural Center Denver will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with Ritmo & Raíces, a FREE, family-friendly celebration at the downtown train station on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Ritmo & Raíces, which means “Rhythm & Roots,” will be a festive celebration of the rich and diverse cultures of Latin America through live music, traditional and contemporary dance, food, history, and community.

Open to all ages, the event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features a variety of cultural performances outside on Wynkoop Plaza and the Terminal Bar patio, including:
- Sangre de Mexico – Mexico
- Qhaswa Perú – Peru
- Mariachi Internacional Denver – Mexico
- Estudio Colombia – Colombia
Attendees can also enjoy free face painting, bilingual historic tours of Denver Union Station, community partner craft stations and Latin American-inspired food and beverage specials available for purchase throughout the Station.
Guests 21+ are invited to visit the Terminal Bar Patio for a donation-based tequila tasting experience.
Hispanic Heritage Month officially begins on September 15.
Founded in 1992, the Mexican Cultural Center is a non-profit 501c3 organization that works in partnership with cultural, educational and other institutions to promote and maintain the richness of Mexican culture in the State of Colorado.
The Mexican Cultural Center is dedicated to increasing awareness of Mexico’s unique arts, customs, traditions and destinations among the audiences of the United States of America.
