Dog lovers rejoice! The much-anticipated Bark-A-Boo, benefiting Paws on the Ground Colorado, returns to Schomp Subaru in Aurora on Sunday, October 24 from noon to 4 p.m. The Halloween-themed celebration will feature a variety of activities for pet owners and their fur babies, as well as an adoption clinic and other fun opportunities to support Paws on the Ground Colorado.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their pups dressed to impress. There will be a costume contest at 3 p.m., with registration from noon to 2:30 p.m. The top three most decked out dogs will be awarded with prizes.
Peruse the pumpkin patch, bid on a silent auction item, or get a new bandana to show your support for Paws on the Ground Colorado. All proceeds from the auction and sale of bandanas and pumpkins will benefit the organization.
A Halloween-themed event wouldn’t be complete without candy. Trunk or Treat from the back of several Subaru vehicles, which will be filled with sweets. Pre-register online with a $5 donation to Paws on the Ground Colorado, and receive a candy pail. Guests will also enjoy delicious eats from The In-N-Out Burger Cookout Truck.

For those looking to bring a new pet into their home, Paws on the Ground Colorado will have dogs and puppies available for adoption, as well information about becoming a foster parent.
Paws on the Ground Colorado is very focused on matching animals with the perfect home, so an application process is required. Those interested are encouraged to pre-apply online prior to the event.
Every Wednesday leading up to Bark-A-Boo, from noon to 2 p.m., Paws on the Ground Colorado will have adoption dogs at Schomp Subaru, so those interested in adopting can spend some time getting to know the pups.
Adoption fees vary based on the age and breed of dog, but they average $450. All dogs are adopted spayed/neutered, microchipped and have age-appropriate vaccinations. The first 30 people who adopt a dog onsite will receive a $150 credit towards Schomp Subaru vehicle accessories.
Paws on the Ground Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the reduction of euthanasia of shelter animals and puppy mill commerce through the promotion of adoption of rescued animals. In 2020, Paws on the Ground Colorado facilitated adoptions for 750 dogs.
