“Music with Friends”, a series presented by Friends of Chamber Music, continues with its final FREE concert for the season on Tuesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at Syntax Physic Opera. Ensemble Faucheux features April Johannesen (bass clarinet), Robyn Julyan and Ben Tomkins (violins), Catherine Beeson (viola) and Heidi Mausbach (cello). Ensemble Faucheux will perform three works for bass clarinet and string quartet. Rooted in elements of minimalism and blues, the music on this program will explore the world of sound inhabited by three living American composers.
The concert will feature the Colorado premiere of Jessica Mays’ “On Shapes and Figures,” a work that engages the audience and players in unusual ways.
