Little Lyons is so compact that it is easy to stroll from one venue to another. The town holds its annual holiday celebration Lyons Holiday Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 7. The parade will start at 6:30 p.m., filled with illuminated, colorful floats, many of which will be decorated in this year’s theme — “Winter Wonderland”. It routes down Main St. and back along Broadway, so there are plenty of prime viewing spots.
Live music and entertainment follow at 7:15 p.m. in Sandstone Park (parallel to and just south of U.S. 36). Among those performing this year will be the Lyons High School and Elementary School Show Choirs. At 7:40 p.m., fireworks light up the sky.
Parking will be available in Bohn Park, Railroad Ave., and side streets on the north end of town. Please note LaVern Johnson Park will not be accessible for spectating or parking. Spectators should view the parade from the sidewalk areas and should not be in the street while the parade is in session.
