Back in 2015, a Lavender Garden was planted at Chatfield Farms. Now that the plants, more than 2,000, have come into bloom, the Denver Botanic Gardens is hosting a Lavender Festival on Saturday & Sunday, July 16 & 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The beautiful purple blooms should create the perfect backdrop for a day devoted to “all-things lavender”.
There will be free demonstrations in the dye garden and working blacksmith shop.
Buy lavender products made by local growers and artisans. Artists will be selling paintings and pottery.
Youngsters can also explore the treehouse and water feature in Deer Creek Discovery, check out the wildlife observation area and visit with barnyard friends.
Enjoy a variety of food, dessert and drink vendors. There’s even lavender beer! But, you may also bring in your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Festival entry is $13 for adults ($11 for members), $11 for seniors ($9 for members) and $9 for children 3 to 15. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance for a specific entry time. No on-site ticket sales.
Because tickets go fast, we are bringing you this info now. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 6 at 10 a.m.
There’s plenty of free parking. 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Rd., Littleton, 720-865-4346.
