Saturday is Free at Denver World’s Fair of Money

POSTED BY
Laura

Show me the money! The Denver World’s Fair of Money is happy to oblige. Staged by the American Numismatic Association, the Fair is the largest coin show in the country. See more than $1 billion of historic rare coins and colorful currency including $100,000 bills and a nickel worth $3 million — plus, find out what your old coins and currency may be worth.

Among the numismatic treasures are Colorado Gold Rush era rarities such as a set of 1860 gold pieces, a 1933 Eagle (one of less than 40 known surviving examples) and  George Washington-signed document appointing David Rittenhouse as first Director of the United States Mint. The Museum Showcase area will be open during public hours of the convention in Hall F of the Colorado Convention Center.

The Denver World’s Fair of Money is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday, August 1 to 5. Public hours are Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, with children 12 and under admitted free. Go here for $2 off admission coupon. Everyone gets in FREE on Saturday.
