The Highlands neighborhood serves to showcase fine arts and crafts with the Highlands Art Festival set for Saturday & Sunday, June 10 & 11, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is organized by the same folks who produce the Park Hill Art Festival, so you can expect top-notch talent to be on display. Location is the lawn of the Highlands Masonic Lodge.
Besides shopping all types of art — ceramics, paintings, woodworking, jewelry, textiles, mixed media, stained glass and photography — check out Gourmet Alley, a collection of non-art booths featuring individually packaged fine foods like vinegars, condiments, pickles, preserves, meats, sweets & treats, sauces, dips, jams, jellies, breads, and pastas.
Performing on Saturday (3:30 p.m.) is Gregg Hansen & his Djembe Orchestras of Colorado, a Community Based Ensemble of 16 drummers created. They play a unique style of World Music using African drums & percussion and singing Pop Nostalgia songs with three-part vocals.
Onsite food trucks include Mama Kabob, Fanwich and Still Smokin BBQ Joint.
At 3 p.m. on both days, there is a drawing for a $1,000 Art Festival Shopping Spree! To get a ticket, just ask any artist for one.
Put your ticket “Stub in the tub!” on the steps of the Masonic Lodge Building. Then, you MUST be present at 3 p.m. to win.
