Free Family-Friendly Jazz Concert

Tom Gershwin & Friends perform A Jazz Concert & Summer Celebration at the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) on Sunday, July 15. from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This event is FREE and open to the public. Doors open at 3 p.m. and the music starts at 3:30 p.m. Please plan to bring your own food and drink.

Gershwin is a Denver-based bandleader, trumpeter, and composer. In 2015, he was selected to be in KUVO’s 30 under 30 series, which featured young musicians contributing to the jazz scene in Colorado. Gershwin has two full-length jazz albums: “Sweet Pastimes”, a duo project featuring classic standards, and “Live at Mighty Fine”, a quintet performing collaborative compositions and improvisations.

Tom’s current six piece group has been featured at Nocturne, the Five Points Jazz Festival, the Estes Park Jazz Festival, and Dazzle Jazz.

As a freelance trumpeter, Tom has performed and/or recorded with The Temptations, John Batiste, Father John Misty, Chris Potter, One Republic, DeVotchKa, Opiuo, Leftover Salmon, Juno winner Jayme Stone, and Portugal. The Man at venues including Red Rocks Amphitheater, the Blue Note, and City Park Jazz.

Bring your family, pack a picnic and listen to music on a lovely summer afternoon. A child zone will be available for the kiddos to play in while the concert is going on. If possible, please RSVP here. 2149 Federal Blvd., Denver.
