In conjunction with Martin Luther King Day, Friends of Chamber Music presents an inspiring FREE program featuring the Pacifica Quartet and soprano Karen Slack on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 7 p.m. These world-class artists join with The Spirituals Project Choir and Montview Westminster Choir for an exploration of the Spiritual and the critical role it played in the origins of American music.
Spirituals: The Root of American Music will also provide an overview of the Reparations Royalty Pilot Program — a practice of valuing the musical contributions of persons of color. A meet and greet reception will follow.
The event is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Montview Blvd. Presbyterian Church.
No tickets are necessary. Donations will be accepted.
