For five decades, Foothills Animal Shelter has proudly stood as Jefferson County’s only full-service animal shelter, serving thousands of pets and people every year. On Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the community is invited to the annual Shelter Showcase. This year, it celebrates the 50th anniversary with a Birthday Bash, so you can expect extra fun. The FREE family-friendly open house features shelter tours, interactive educational stations, FREE lunch on the patio and sweet treats. If you are looking for a new furry friend, you get 50% off on adoption fees for adult dogs and cats!

Family-Friendly Activities: Arts & crafts and the opportunity to “adopt” a plush pet to learn firsthand how we care for our real animals every day.

Adoption Promotion: Between now and July 20, get 50% off on adoption fees for all dogs and cats one year and older, thanks to Adopt a Pet Shelter Plus!

Donation Drive: Bring in two or more items from their wish list for the animals and receive a small Foothills treat as a token of appreciation.
Note: While the shelter loves all pets, this event is designed for human attendees only.
If you can’t make it on Saturday, you can still stop by through Monday, July 20 to find a new companion and receive 50% off adoption fees.
