The city of Thornton’s Rhythms & Reels is a series of live concerts (rhythms) and movie screenings (reels) at various parks in Thornton throughout the spring and summer. This FREE family-friendly event combines the best of live musical entertainment and outdoor movie magic. The series takes place from May 31 to July 26, 2025.
Plus, enjoy a complimentary frozen summertime treat, courtesy of Thornton City Council. Music plays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Movies start at 7:30 p.m.
An onsite food truck will also be available, offering items for purchase.

May 28: Thornton Community Band + “Wicked: For Good” (Mayor’s Night) at Harley Brown Amphitheater
June 11: Michael Friedman Band + “Elio” at at Trail Winds Park (Ward 3)
July 9: Kingpin Posse + “A Minecraft Movie” at Woodglen-Brookshire Park (Ward 2)
July 23: Lucky Catch + “Wonka” at Fallbrook Farms Park (Ward 4)
August 6: Quemando Salsa + “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants” at Community Park (Ward 1)
