POSTED BY
Laura

snowflakesThornton’s Carpenter Park Fields turn into Santa’s Village, home to Thornton WinterFest on Friday to Sunday, December 13 to 15. Santa and his elves arrive on Friday at 6:30 p.m. to assist the Mayor and City Council member with flipping on the Village’s holiday lights. A Holiday Drone Show will take flight on Friday night and fireworks choreographed to holiday music will fill the skies on Saturday.

Friday, December 13, 2024

6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Festivities including visits with Santa, ice skating (for a nominal fee), Thornton Community Chorus concert at 7 p.m., holiday movie, ice-carving demo, lighted maze, heated beer garden and more. The Holiday Drone Show starts at 8 p.m. (if the weather is crummy, the show will be moved to Sunday at 6 p.m.)

Saturday, December 14, 2024

10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Santa’s Village is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visit Santa, enjoy carnival games and children’s crafts and ice skating on the village pond from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Village’s Event Tent magically transforms into a Holiday Marketplace on Saturday with a variety of vendors selling holiday gifts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can also grab a bite (hot chocolate, pizza, kettle corn, sandwiches and more) from food vendors at North Pole Nibbles.

Ice carving demonstrations run throughout the day by members of “Dazzling Ice.” The sculptors will be completing a frozen surprise that will provide a fun holiday photo opportunity. Don’t forget to bring your cameras.

The Thornton Community Band performs at 7 p.m. Reserved seats are $2, general admission is FREE. Holiday fireworks launch at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, December 15, 2024

Festivities including visits with Santa, ice skating (for a nominal fee), holiday movie, childrens carnival games, ice-carving demo, lighted maze, heated beer garden and more.

Here’s a complete schedule of events. Carpenter Park Fields is at 108th Ave., & Colorado Blvd., Thornton.

Santa’s Visitation Schedule

Be sure to stop by Santa’s house to see the “jolly man in red!” Santa Claus will be waiting to hear all boys’ and girls’ Christmas wishes and Christmas lists. Numbers will be handed out 30 minutes prior to each visitation time period. This number will give you a time to come take your place in line, allowing you time to enjoy the festival instead of standing around.

Bring your own camera as photo services are no longer be available.

Santa’s line will be cut-off early in order to adhere to the closing time.

  • Friday 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. / 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. / 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
