This event has been canceled for 2020. In celebration of National Get Outdoors Day, Outlets at Castle Rock will be hosting its first-ever Outdoor & Adventure Event on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Paying homage to Coloradans’ love for exploring the wilderness, the FREE family-friendly event offers a day full of exploration and play associated with the outdoors, featuring a rock-climbing wall, several outdoor play-and-learn areas, beer gardens, an opportunity to adopt a four-legged adventure buddy and interactive demonstrations all about having fun, navigating and surviving in the outdoors.
Aside from honing rock-climbing skills, guests and families can enjoy interactions with Hawk Quest, a Generation Wild outdoors playing area and a pop-up Olympic Training Center booth featuring meet-and-greet sessions with various Team USA Olympic Athletes.
Also, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., a series of interactive seminars will be held, during which guests can learn how to bear-proof their campsites with Colorado Parks & Wildlife, bird-watch with Castle Rock Parks & Recreation and administer first aid with Castle Rock Fire Department. Here’s that schedule:
Noon — Outdoor First Aid, Castle Rock Fire Department
1 p.m. — Bear-Proof Your Campsite, Colorado Parks & Wildlife
2 p.m. — Bird Watching, Castle Rock Parks & Recreation
3 p.m. — Outdoor First Aid, Castle Rock Fire Department
4 p.m. — Bear Awareness & Action, Colorado Parks & Wildlife

In addition, the fun-filled day will feature two beer gardens, where guests can enjoy sips of delicious brews, available at a suggested donation of $5 per beverage with all proceeds benefiting the Denver Dumb Friends League, the largest independent, nonprofit community-based animal shelter in the Rocky Mountain region.
Outdoor enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to meet and/or adopt wonderful dogs ready to become someone’s adventure buddy.
Throughout the day, stores at Outlets at Castle Rock will be showing their love for nature through a variety of activities. The North Face, Arc’Teryx, Oakley, Coleman and Shred 415 will be offering special demonstrations and activities outside their stores, plus one-day-only discounts.
Guests can also enter to win prizes from Arc’Teryx, Coleman, Oakley, Michael Kors and more, with all donations befitting Colorado Parks & Wildlife.
