The International Archaeology Day celebration is a FREE expo to learn, explore and experience archaeology. Professional and avocational archaeologists from around the state will demonstrate, discuss, and bring to life the cultures of Colorado’s past at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre (Lower South Lot #2) on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
From family-friendly archaeology fairs to guided tours, simulated digs, lectures, and classroom visits, IAD offers interactive, hands-on experiences that let you channel your inner Indiana Jones and Dora the Explorer.
Booths and tables will be set up with multiple activities around history, culture and archaeology for kids and adults of all ages.
See a live tipi demonstration and earth watercolor display from the Northern Arapaho.
Check out local artifacts and learn all about the amazing resources we have in Colorado and abroad in Egypt.
Food trucks will be available with items to purchase on site during the event: Crock Spot, Konjo Ethiopian Food, and Cilantro & Perejil.
A small beer garden for guests 21+ will be available from the local Brewery Rickoli.
