Highlands Ranch Pioneer Days

POSTED BY
Laura

The entire family can take a step back in time during Highlands Ranch Pioneer Days, a celebration of community heritage on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event features historical reenactments, blacksmithing, pottery, Indian fry bread, a petting zoo, livestock displays, and more at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. Hay rides provide views of the ranch not typically seen by the public.

Guests can expect performances by Native Americans, banjo music, and a raptor program from Nature’s Educators. Make sure to take a break on the lawn of the Mansion to enjoy freshly made Indian Fry Bread and honey. Explore everything from fur trapping and exploring what pelts settlers used for trade to gold panning where you’ll get to try panning for gold yourself!

No sign-up is needed for Saturday’s self-guided tours of the Mansion from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Docents will be available throughout the Mansion to answer questions about the historic home.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tickets are $7/adults, $5/child (2 and under free). Tickets will be sold at the gate.

Ice cream will be available for sale from Highpoint Creamery on Saturday. Feel free to bring your own food and drink. There will be a picnic tent. There are no public water fountains.

Parking at Highlands Ranch Mansion on Saturday requires a valid handicapped placard. General parking is available at St. Andrew’s North parking lot. A free shuttle will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from St. Andrew’s North parking lot at 9203 S. University Blvd., Highlands Ranch.
