Brews & Tunes At Denver’s First Beer Choir Concert

POSTED BY
Laura

In an effort to “to make the world a little bit better by singing and drinking together,” the Colorado Chorale will put aside classical music for an evening of brews, fun and an audience sing along. Lift a Glass and Sing is set for Friday, October 12 at 7 p.m. at the Mercury Cafe. Sing along to songs like What do you do with a Drunken Sailor, Beer Barrel Polka, Ob la di, and other favorites.

“You don’t have to be a professional singer to make music,” notes Chorale director Kevin Padworski.  “We want to encourage more people to sing by moving from the concert hall to the beer hall … or in this case, the Mercury Café.”

The beer choir concert is FREE (donations accepted), with beer and food for sale at the concert (cash only). Audience members must be 21 or over. You can get your tickets in advance here.

As part of its community outreach, the Choir will donate a portion of proceeds to Art from Ashes a local nonprofit that uses art to reach at risk youth. 2199 California St., Denver.
