The area’s largest celebration of the Chinese New Year is Saturday, January 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Potters House. More than 2,000 people attend the Colorado Chinese New Year Celebration coordinated by the Denver Chinese School, Confucius Institute at Community College of Denver and the Chinese American Foundation of Colorado. Highlight of the festival is a two-hour cultural and entertainment show by national and international artists.
The Cultural Fair, Taste of China and Marketplace are FREE. Visitors can enjoy a variety of Chinese and Asian Pacific booths including cultural exhibits, artwork and crafts, food stands and more. There are games for the kiddos and demonstrations such as calligraphy.
Tickets are $25 to the Celebration Show from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It features acrobats, magic, dance, opera, music, martial arts and a children’s choir.
