Want To Park in Downtown Denver For $5 This Summer? Here’s How

POSTED BY
Laura

Frustrated by pricey parking in Downtown Denver? Now thousands of spots are available for just $5. The City and County of Denver has partnered with SpotHero to launch “Mayor’s Park $5”, a discount program that lasts through the end of September. The discount parking will be available from morning to late afternoon (8 hours max) on Mondays and Fridays and every weeknight evening beginning at 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. In addition, customers can pay $5 for 12 hours of parking ($10 for 24 hours) on Saturdays and Sundays.

The $5 parking offer extends from 14th to 20th Streets and Wazee to Broadway. Image: Denver Mayor’s Office

Where You Can Park

The $5 parking offer extends from 14th to 20th streets and Wazee to Broadway.

Approximately 3,000 parking spots within that area are currently available at the reduced rate. The City hopes to scale up to as many as 5,000 by late summer.

The 3,000 spots added through the program effectively more than doubles the approximately 2,000 metered parking spaces currently available in downtown Denver.

How To Get The Deal

Those wishing to take advantage of the deal — and why wouldn’t you, it’s $5 parking — should do so by downloading the SpotHero app or using their online website.

Then, you go to SpotHero to find and purchase a discounted, downtown parking spot during the select days and times.

The Mayor’s Office is also partnering with SpotHero to offer a promo code to waive the 99¢ service fee. The promo code is subject to availability.

Promo codes will update every two weeks so be on the lookout on Denver’s and SpotHero’s social media pages and websites for update codes. The current promo code is MILEHIGH5.

Note: A single icon in the app may represent multiple available spaces at local garages to keep the interface easier to read and more user friendly.

We Checked It Out

MHOTC took a look at the SpotHero website. After typing in the date, start time and end time, a number of parking spaces appeared. Each was priced at $5.99 (it shows up as $6 on the map). Those are the spots you are looking for.

They are $5 + a 99¢ fee. So when you book, try and use the current promo code to get the final $5 price. But even if you have to pay $6, it’s a great deal.

Now, if you want to spend an evening or weekend downtown, it just got easier (and more affordable!).
