Butterfly Pavilion Creates New Holiday Tradition With Living Lights

POSTED BY
Laura

Add the Butterfly Pavilion to the ever-growing list of attractions lighting up for the holiday season. Living Lights is an enchanted, indoor festival of lights, where guests will embark on a quest to meet the Firefly Princess. Escaping the winter weather, this indoor, entertaining, and educational evening is filled with luminous aerial artists, radiant performers, glowing invertebrates and an electrifying kid’s glow-in-the-dark dance party.

Living Lights runs from December 17 through January 2 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (last entry at 9:15 p.m.)

Butterfly Pavilion will light up in a rainbow of colors as visitors walk through the exhibits and see the world of invertebrates in a new and enchanting way.

The experience includes:

Biofluorescent invertebrate animals and glowing exhibits lighting pathways as visitors embark on their journey.

Illuminated landscapes showcasing natural habitats for these tiny creatures.

An engaging, enchanted Firefly Forest within the Wings of the Tropics butterfly conservatory.

Mesmerizing aerial artists adorning the indoor skies with performances inspired by the metamorphosis from pupa to firefly.

Captivating, interactive performers simulating various invertebrates.

Hottest kid-friendly glow-in-the-dark dance “rave” in town with electrifying music and glowsticks galore
Memory-making, festive photo opp station for capturing this magical experience.

While a celebration for the holidays, Living Lights also helps shed light on the importance of invertebrates through heightened awareness and exposure within a fun setting. Guests will learn more about how invertebrates are the foundational animal species within all ecosystems on our planet and upon which all life relies.

They will also discover current conservation efforts Butterfly Pavilion is leading such as work to breed fireflies in Colorado under human care. Only a few sites in Colorado have fireflies that glow, and Butterfly Pavilion is working to expand their populations in the wild.

Reservations are required. Tickets cost $20 for adults, $13 for seniors and $12 for children. Pavilion members receive a discount. Find tickets here.

How naughty! Butterfly Pavilion isn’t offering any discounts right now, but keep your antennas out for any flash sales or promo codes.

Butterfly Pavilion is at 6252 West 104th Avenue in Westminster.
