You can never be too prepared for an emergency. That’s one reason why so many fire departments host safety fairs. The Arvada Fire Safety Day Fair is Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arvada Fire Training Center. The FREE event promises loads of fun with interactive booths, emergency preparedness information and a chance to meet local first responders.
Some of the demonstrations this year will include a live burn demonstration provided by the National Fire Sprinkler Association, a helicopter landing from Flight for Life and a seatbelt simulator ride provided by St. Anthony’s Hospital and the Colorado State Patrol.
In addition, this year’s event will feature up-close tours of safety vehicles such as Arvada Fire trucks and ambulances, the new Incident Response Command Vehicle from JeffCom 911, and a new Wildland Brush Truck from Jefferson County Open Space.
Families can get involved in activities such as stuffed animal first aid, obstacle courses and participate in several educational programs on safety topics such as pet safety, disaster preparedness and safe cooking.
