Free Adult Crafts & Workshops at Denver/Boulder Area Libraries in August 2026

POSTED BY

The most valuable card in your wallet isn’t your credit card but your library card. Along with providing a wealth of information and resources, your local library system also hosts a variety of FREE events every month. Some events require registration, but nearly all are at no-cost to you to attend. Check your closest system’s events calendar, find the event that speaks to you, and take advantage of this invaluable community resource.

MAYBE YOU DIDN’T KNOW! All public libraries are part of the Colorado Libraries Collaborate. That means if you get a library card for one system, you can utilize other Colorado public libraries.

Typically, the alternative library will issue you a library card or affix a barcode sticker to your local library card. So if you have a Denver Public Library card, feel free to get one from Arapahoe Libraries or Boulder or any other that might be within a short drive of your home or work.

A few libraries restrict certain perks to residents only, but events are typically open to all, regardless of if you live within the district.

The events listed below include art workshops, craft nights, writing workshops, and more and is updated monthly. Events are primarily for adults with some open to multiple age groups.

If you have any updates, additions, deletions or closures, send an e-mail to info@milehighonthecheap.com.

NOTE: Some events may be canceled or rescheduled at the last minute, please double-check their calendar or call the branch you are planning to visit before the program if you have any questions about scheduling or attendance requirements.

Events with full registration lists are not included. If registration for an event is full, many libraries offer waitlist options so don’t forget to check their calendars for additional programs.
