Teens and tweens can step into the spotlight at Main Character Energy, a new series of festivals put together by Arapahoe Libraries. The FREE festivals were inspired by teen library patrons, who said they wanted the chance to feel like the heroes of their favorite books and movies. At Main Character Energy, attendees can explore a variety of art stations, games and treats and step into their own “main character moment.”

Main Character Energy was intentionally designed to celebrate a wide variety of genres, characters and interests. The events feature activities pulled from Project Hail Mary, Spider-Man, Wednesday and other fan-favorite worlds.
Participants (ages 9 to 18) can connect with friends, explore at their own pace and immerse themselves in the worlds and activities that interest them most.
Those who come in costume can enter a costume contest toward the end of the event for a chance to win prizes.
There are two Main Character Energy events:
Friday, July 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Koelbel Library (5955 S. Holly St., Centennial)
Friday, July 24 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. at Smoky Hill Library (5430 S. Biscay Cir., Centennial)
This is after library hours so the kids will have the place all to themselves — how cool is that!
Each Main Character Energy features:
Art and activity stations
Inflatable games to test aim and speed
Special-effects makeup artists
Free treat truck
Live DJ
And more!
The fine print:
This event is free and open to everyone ages 9 to 18. Age limits will be enforced. Parents and caregivers may attend.
The event will be held indoors and outdoors at the library after hours. Weather could cause delays or cancellation.
Space is limited. You must RSVP.
