The annual Affordable Arts Festival is unlike any arts fest you have attended — all of the art is priced at $100 or less. It takes place outdoors on Sunday, August 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arapahoe Community College. This is the Black Friday of art sales with more than 160 artists from 23 states selling their works in a variety of mediums at amazing prices.
Artists offer a selection of great deals, along with pieces that are normally priced under $100. Don’t let the price fool you. This is fine art at great prices.
How amazing are the discounts? The best deal is a painting by Denver artist Tate Hamilton originally priced at $5,000 for $100. Photographer Steve Keating has $1,700 framed, 40 x 40 image that will sell for $100.
You’ll find paintings and mixed media, jewelry, glass, fiberworks, photography, metal work, sculpture, ceramics and wood. From the whimsical to the functional to the simply-gotta-have-it, there’s art for all tastes.
While gates open at 9 a.m., many people line up much earlier, so be prepared for crowds. Live music starts at 7 a.m., with a coffee cart and other surprises for early patrons. With prices like these, you’ll won’t mind hanging out and have a ton of fun.
Admission is $11 online or $10 at the gate (children 12 and under, FREE) with proceeds going to the Arapahoe Community College scholarship program.
