The Colorado State University Spur campus at the National Western Complex comes alive every second Saturday of the month for a day full of FREE interactive, hands-on activities that the whole family can enjoy. The next 2nd Saturday at Spur is Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This month’s theme is “Eco-Explorers,” and the campus will be home to numerous interactive activities exploring the connections between plants, animals, water and people.

CSU Spur is a free educational year-round public life-long learning destination in Denver focused on engaging Pre-K-12 students, families and visitors around food, water and health.
Activities include:
Join CSU Spur’s artist-in-residence to learn about the natural dyes we can extract from area trees and how to use them to create art.
Play interactive games and test your knowledge of Colorado’s bugs in the Terra greenhouse.
Participate in a tai chi exercise and learn krav maga.
Jam out at the CSU Spur music lab, and learn all about mariachi.
Play at a stream table showing the power of water and erosion.
Watch veterinarians performing surgery on dogs and cats in the Humane Colorado Veterinary Hospital.
Explore virtual reality demonstrations on the Vida Building’s first floor.
See live music and check out local vendors down by the Riverfront at the Market at the Center.
