Colorado goes to the dogs… and we love it. Local canine-centric businesses are hosting a Responsible Dog Ownership Day on Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shelly’s Garden Center. The goal of the FREE event, supported by the American Kennel Club, is to educate first-time dog owners about dog ownership and help current dog owners enhance their relationships with their four-legged pals. Attendees can speak one-on-one with experienced dog trainers, pet sitters, pet supply retailers and others. Those looking to show to their neighbors that their dog is an upstanding community member can take the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. There will also be demonstrations, cools things to do for the kiddos, food, ice cream and face painting. Of course, well-behaved dogs are welcome. 4181 W. 120th Ave., Broomfield.
