More than just a walk in the park, the annual Womxn’s March Denver is a movement to uplift and amplify women’s voices. This year’s march is Saturday, January 18 at Civic Center Park. Pre-march entertainment begins at 9:30 a.m., with the march itself stepping off near the corner of 14th Ave. and Bannock St. at 10 a.m. An Impact Expo follows inside the McNichols Civic Center Building from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Womxn’s March runs an ongoing series of community workshops and serves as a platform to share awareness about key issues of importance to our community. While there will be no rally associated with the march, one is being planned for later in 2020 to encourage voter participation.
Additional free events on January 18 include a cappella choirs and dancer/drummer ensembles outdoors before and after the march. During the Impact Expo, marchers can connect with approximately 60 non-profit and community groups focusing on reproductive rights, climate change, gun safety, immigration, voter registration, domestic violence/sexual assault assistance resources, and arts activism.
Workshops available include “Womxn Building Resilience” and the live podcast of “Dear White Womxn” for $10 each. Seating is limited at these workshops, so to reserve your spot, go here.
