Parents know it’s better to keep kids busy and active rather than just sitting on the couch saying, “I’m bored.” There’s good news for parents because the MY Denver Card program allows youth (ages 5 to 18) year-round access to the city’s 23 recreation centers and 29 pools, as well as the Denver Public Library, for FREE. Parents may take their children to any of the 23 recreation centers throughout the city to fill out the appropriate paperwork to receive their MY Denver Card. Cards are now issued the same day applications are submitted. Once processed, the MY Denver Card will also serve as each child’s Denver Public Library card and replaces any previously-issued card from Denver Public Library. The program applies to all students in grades K-12 regardless of where they go to school, as long as they’re residents of Denver. Thanks to the innovative program, young Denverites can keep their body and mind active all year-long.
