Sikh Parade and Festival on Sunday

POSTED BY
Laura

fun have funThe Colorado Singh Sabha, along with seven other Sikh groups, hosts a Nagar Kirtan Parade and Celebration on Sunday, May 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Denver East High School. The FREE event hopes to share the Sikh religion and culture with community members. FREE vegetarian food will be served throughout the day. The program will include Kirtan (Devotional music) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A colorful parade from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Denver’s City Park and Capitol Hill neighborhoods will conclude the day’s events. It runs from 16th Avenue from Esplanade Pl. to Emerson St. and back. More than 30 million Sikhs around the world celebrate Vaisakhi every year and the Sikh community of Denver is proud to help bring this vibrant cultural celebration to Colorado. For decades, Sikhs have hosted similar events in California, New York and Canada, but this is the first of its kind for Denver and the entire Front Range. 1545 Detroit St., Denver.
