If you have lived in Denver for any time, you know Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant is known for its strong (and delectable) margaritas. (It’s also known for great Mexican food!) It all started back on June 15, 1986 in Ft. Collins. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the popular hangout will be toasting the occasion with its signature margaritas for just $3.75 (reg. $7) on Wednesday, June 15 from 5 p.m. to closing. As always, the three-per-person limit applies. (Remember, the margaritas are strong!) There are locations in Boulder, Denver, Ft. Collins, Frisco, Greeley and Lone Tree. (The promo does not include the location at Coors Field.) Our friendly PSA: Please don’t drink and drive — safety first. (Bryan is a Colorado native and recalls a few memorable nights at Rio Grande in his 20s with friends. Okay, maybe not completely recall, but it was fun!)
If you really want to party, the restaurant is closing all of its locations (except Ft. Collins) on Saturday, June 18 for a huge block party in Old Town Fort Collins, with live music (Buddy Guy headlines), margaritas (of course!) and lots of fun. Admission is FREE. The party gets started at 4 p.m. The music gets jammin’ at 5 p.m. For more information, click here.
