Be prepared to be scared. The Denver Public Library (Central Branch) hosts two monster-licious movies this month on Sunday afternoons. Both screenings are FREE and there’s FREE popcorn, plus trivia games and “awesome” prizes. The first film is Tremors, a 1990 film starring Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward and Reba McEntire. It’s a hoot as people mysteriously go missing one-by-one in the small, isolated town of Perfection, Nevada. Showtime is 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7. Then, on Sunday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. settle in for Them! The classic 1950s horror film shows just what happens when radiation from atomic tests in New Mexico cause ants to mutate into giant monsters. Don’t say you weren’t warned. 10 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy., Denver.
