Marian the Librarian would definitely not approve, but the Arapahoe Library District wants patrons to get outside the lines and be loud during a week-long celebration, Monday to Friday, September 15 to 19. What’s up with all the noise? Libraries have become so much more than just shelves of books and they want you to take another look. Each library will host a mini-event that includes a DJ, bubble machines, tattoos for the kids, prizes and more. And they’ll show off the latest technology and library offerings. Here’s the schedule: Monday, September 15 – 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Koelbel Library. Tuesday, September 16 – 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Castlewood Library and Sheridan Library. Thursday, September 18 – 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Eloise May Library. Friday, September 19 – 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Smoky Hill Library and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Southglenn Library. The week culminates with a free concert on Saturday, September 20 featuring the 6 Million Dollar Band at Centennial Park Amphitheater. You’ll find a full list of libraries at the ALD website.
