Free Groceries, Services and More at Convoy of Hope

POSTED BY
Laura

family blackIn the United States, there are many communities (Denver included) where working-poor families struggle to put food on their tables. It’s in such situations that a free bag of groceries, the chance to visit with an employer about a job, a life-saving health screening, or even a family portrait can serve as life-changing experiences that transform lives. Denver hosts Convoy of Hope on Saturday, October 3 at La Alma Lincoln Park. More than $1 million is good and services will be distributed to attendees. That includes FREE groceries, a FREE bag lunch, FREE haircuts for the entire family, FREE family portraits, FREE health screenings and job services. Plus there will be live entertainment, dozens of FREE carnival games, inflatables, FREE concessions and lots of prizes. Anyone in the community may attend and identification is NOT required to participate. The event runs rain or shine, while supplies last. Gates open at 10 a.m. There is no parking at or around the park, but you can park for FREE and take a shuttle from Auraria Campus: Elm Lot & 5th Street Garage (shuttles will begin running at 8 a.m.) and Pepsi Center in the Tundra Lot (shuttles will begin running at 8 a.m.). 13th Ave. & Mariposa St., Denver.
