Saturday, June 10 is National Get Outdoors Day, and “outdoors” can be as close as an urban oasis. The annual Get Outdoors Day Colorado is a FREE fun-filled family event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sloan’s Lake Park (north shore). Activities include rock wall climbing, fishing, paddle boating, canoeing, kayaking, learning about lake habitats and wildlife, dancing, outdoor arts, bicycling, cooking, making music, exploring urban farming and more things to enjoy on land and water. This truly is an event for everyone, regardless of physical limitation. In the Adaptive Recreation Village people of all ages can learn how to hand-pedal bike, adaptively fish, climb or paddle. Come meet different the businesses that offer adaptive recreation and learn what they can do for you. Parking around Sloan’s Lake Park is limited.
