The Boulder Philharmonic has a lot to celebrate these days. It is just one of four orchestras nationwide invited to perform at inaugural Shift Festival of American Orchestras at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC coming on March 28. On Sunday, March 5, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., there’s a FREE community celebration of this honor at Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. The event includes a wine reception with snacks from Three Leaf Concepts, performances by Charles Lee, Boulder Phil’s principal cellist, plus Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance Company and the Greater Boulder Youth Orchestras — and the announcement of the orchestra’s upcoming 60th anniversary season. The BMoCA is at 1750 13th St., Boulder, 303-443-2122.
