Every even year in mid-June, Boulder Municipal Airport hosts Airport Day, a FREE fun day focusing on small planes. And this year, it’s tomorrow, Saturday, June 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to climb inside most of the aircraft and vehicles, talk to the operators and of course take pictures. Visitors get up close and personal with such aircraft as World War II, acrobatic, antique, corporate, experimental, gliders, helicopters and military.
This family-friendly event includes such activities for children as building a model rocket or a balsa wood airplane at Kidspace, an area sponsored by the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Also on hand are food vendors, gift shops and the opportunity to purchase rides in a glider. 3327 Airport Rd., Boulder, 303-441-3108.
