The 21st annual Lafayette Quaker Oatmeal Festival, Saturday, January 14, kicks off with the traditional oatmeal breakfast, 7:30 a.m. to noon at Pioneer Elementary School (101 E. Baseline Rd.), that boasts the world’s largest toppings bar (150 toppings). The festival also features a health fair with FREE and low-cost screenings for kids, adults and active seniors at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center (111 W. Baseline Rd.) from 8 a.m. to noon. Preregister now online, by mail, fax, phone or in person for the Quicker Quaker 5K fun run/walk starting at 200 E. Baseline Rd. at 9:30 a.m. sharp.
Parking is limited so use the lot at Flatirons Community Church, 350 S. Boulder Road. Shuttle service will run continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to and from Pioneer Elementary. Please carpool or take the RTD bus. Oatmeal breakfast only tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for kids aged 3 to 12 and seniors 60+, FREE for under 3. Getting healthier? Priceless.
