Despite rumors that it would be canceled this year, the 23rd annual Lafayette Oatmeal Festival is back. It is scheduled for today, Saturday, January 12, and kicks off with the traditional oatmeal breakfast, 7:30 a.m. to noon at Pioneer Elementary School (101 E. Baseline Rd.). It boasts the world’s largest toppings bar (150 toppings). Preregister now online, by mail, fax, phone or in person for the Lafayette Oatmeal 5K fun run/walk starting at 200 E. Baseline Rd. at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Race registration includes a breakfast ticket.
Parking is limited, so use the lot at Flatirons Community Church, 350 S. Boulder Road. Shuttle service runs continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to and from Pioneer Elementary. Please carpool or take the RTD bus. And if you are inspired to share your health with others, Vitalant Community Blood Drive (previously Bonfils) is holding a concurrent blood drive. Park in the lot between Pioneer Elementary and the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center .
Oatmeal breakfast only tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for kids aged 3 to 12 and seniors 60+, FREE for 2 and under. Getting healthier? Priceless.
